Abstract

This article aims to describe the second phase of the creation of the #28A Strike Archive, based on a set of digital objects created by different communities in Medellín in the context of the social mobilizations that occurred in Colombia on April 28, 2021. Methodologically, we relaunched the campaign “Hacer eterno lo efímero”. We held two participatory workshops with individuals and organizations that played a leading role in the strike in the city and its metropolitan area, in which we presented the initiative to create the archive. We saw about the trajectories of the participants and their organizations, assessed the status of the various documentary collections, and proposed strategies to ensure their digital preservation. In results, the creation of the archive has served as a laboratory for the capture, management and preservation of digital objects and for archival activism. Finally, we describe the many challenges we have faced in managing this participatory collection.
